Well Read

It’s World Book Day today and, as I got my three year old daughter all dressed up as a character from one of her favourite books this morning (the little old lady from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s “A Squash and a Squeeze”, if you’re interested!), I was reminded of a portrait I made for Heaver Magazine.

Simon is a literacy tutor for St Mungo’s, a charity working with homeless people to try to prevent and alleviate homelessness and the exclusion associated with it. According to the charity’s website, when it comes to literacy, “people who are homeless have among the lowest skills levels of any group in society”.

Simon – Literacy Tutor at St Mungo’s – reads one of his favourite books, Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”.
